Eucharistic Encounter Night
Join us for the first monthly Eucharistic Encounter Night of the semester, after the 7 p.m. Mass. We’ll have an opportunity to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament, have praise and worship, and be prayed over.
This event is open to all students, young adults, parishioners, and friends of the Newman Center.
Adult Bible Study- Pilot Meeting
This Sunday, September 29th, you’re invited to a “come and see” meeting after the 8 a.m. Mass in the upper level of the Newman Center to gauge interest in an Adult Bible Study led by Dr. Robert Brenneman. Following the study, a path/study will be chosen if there is sufficient interest.
Survey Sunday
Survey Sunday will take place Sunday, September 8th after each Mass. We strongly advise everyone to complete the form in order to update their information, even if they are already registered. Anyone who fills out the survey will automatically be entered in a raffle for an Amazon or Target gift card.
Semester Building Hours Begin
Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, our fall semester building hours will be Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., and only open for Mass and Confession on Saturday and each Mass on Sunday.
Closed Labor Day - Mass still available
Monday, September 2nd, the building will be closed in light of Labor Day. However, We will have Mass and Confession at 9 a.m.
In-Semester Mass Times Begin
Beginning Sunday, September 1st, we will return to our in-semester Sunday Mass times of 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 7 p.m.
Temporary Hours - Aug. 16
Due to an off-site staff retreat, St. Lawrence Newman Center will be temporarily open for Mass and Confession. Learn more here.
Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary
The Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary Masses will be Thursday, August 15th at 12:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. This is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Independence Day
We will be CLOSED on Thursday, July 4th, in honor of Independence Day. However, Mass will be held at 9 a.m.
Juneteenth Hours
On Wednesday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth, the building will be open for a limited time from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, the office will remain closed all day.
Archdiocese Eucharistic Procession
Join the National Eucharistic Revival, the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and The Saint Paul Seminary for a Eucharistic procession down Summit Avenue. A flagship portion of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage‘s Marian Route, we will follow Christ through the heart of St. Paul, from The Saint Paul Seminary to the Cathedral of St. Paul.
Closed for Memorial Day
Monday, May 27th, the building will be closed in light of Memorial Day except for Mass and Confession at 9 a.m.
The Funeral of Bill Breer
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Breer on March 10, 2024. His funeral will be held on May 23rd at 10 a.m. here at St. Lawrence Newman Center. A luncheon will be served in the social hall following the funeral. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
Liturgy Volunteers Needed
There are many ways to serve here at St. Lawrence Newman Center. A few opportunities include becoming a lector, sacristan, usher, Eucharistic minister, getting involved with music ministry, and many more. Email info@gophercatholic.org to get connected.

Non-Semester Sunday Mass Times
The Non-Semester Sunday Mass times will begin Sunday, May 12th at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Summer Building Hours
The Summer Building Hours will begin Monday, May 13th. Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Congratulations to Alumnus Alexander Hall
Please join us in extending congratulations and offering prayers for alumnus, Alexander Hall as he prepares to be ordained into the transitional diaconate on Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis. Alexander will assist at the 9 a.m. Mass here at St. Lawrence Newman Center the following day.
Lost and Found Items
Throughout the semester we have collected quite a few items that are in our lost and found. If any of these are yours, please come to the office to claim them. After June 7th, the items will be donated.
Spring Wine Social

Easter Memorial Flowers
Purchase Easter memorial flowers in honor or in memory of loved ones. The suggested donation is $15. Names of those honored will appear in the bulletin the Friday after Easter. Complete the form below or in the Gathering Space and turn it in to the parish office.

Adoration will conclude for Holy Week on Wednesday, March 27th, and will resume on Tuesday, April 2nd.

Lenten Penance Service
Join us on Tuesday, March 26th from 7:30 - 9 p.m. for a Lenten Penance Service in the church. You’ll have the opportunity to go to confession with one of several priests right before Easter.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross will take place every Friday in Lent at 11:40 a.m.
in the church. Stations will NOT occur on Friday, March 8th due to
spring break. On Good Friday, March 29th, stations will be held at
Northrop Plaza on campus.
Ash Wednesday Masses
Wednesday, February 14th, our Ash Wednesday Mass times will be 12:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at the Newman Center and 8 p.m. on campus at the Great Hall of Coffman.
Women Growing in Faith Bible Study
Join the women of the parish as we explore the people and events of the Old Testament in our latest Walking With Purpose study. The nine-week session will run on Tuesdays from February 6 - April 9, with no session on March 26th in light of Holy Week.
Prayer for March for Life
Come celebrate Mass with us on Monday, January 22nd at 9 a.m. before students head to the capitol for the Minnesota March for Life. 12:15 p.m. Mass will still be celebrated as usual.
